1910-Japan seized control of the Korean Peninsula and began to colonize
-Korea began to modernize
1945-Japan lost the World War 2 and the control of the Korean Peninsula was divided between the Soviet Union and the United States; North-USSR & South-USA
-conflict started when both sides elected a leader, both leaders wanted full control of whole peninsula
1950-Korean War
1953- Kim Il-sung remodeled North Korea, promoting Korean autonomy-everything belongs to the North Korean Government
1970s- North Korea was too dependant on USSR, and when USSR collapsed in 1991, North Korean command stopped functioning
1994- Kim Jong-Il took power and instituted a military
-people fled to China for food and jobs
2000s-China strengthened relationships with Korea and economy gradually became more stable
2011-Kim Jong-Il dies
December 16-17, 2014- Guardians of Peace threatened terrorist attacks on theaters viewing the movie. The Interview was canceled from theatrical release. Most suspicion falls on North Korea.

North Korea's history shapes it to be the isolated country it is today. Because of that, it's rocky relationship with the U.S. causes these clashes between them that would lead U.S. to believe that NK cyber-attacked it.
